Life in the Years is a joint initiative of Musicians for a Cause and the Moore Center |

Life in the Years is the most comprehensive compilation of music in the world focused on bringing compassion, awareness, love, and a touch of humor to the issues around aging. We solicited the best songs from over 350,000 talented songwriters around the world and selected 37 artists to share touching stories about their loved ones. * Entries were received from Australia to Iceland, India to Trinidad, the United States to the United Arab Emirates, all over Europe and everywhere in between! * Natalie Merchant contributed a very moving ballad called "Beloved Wife" and Livingston Taylor contributed a beautiful duet with Carly Simon called "Best of Friends". The Life in the Years collection is incredibly touching and represents many important perspectives on life and aging. All songs are a product of the songwriter's personal experience and include their inspiration notes, which in many cases are as touching and inspiring as the songs themselves! Our goal was to find the most compelling songs in the world to ensure we touch as many hearts as possible, inspiring them to help support our elderly. Songs were selected based on: * Their ability to represent an important perspective on aging. * Their ability to create emotion, awareness and compassion for the elderly. * Their appeal to various age groups. As we were making the final selections for the CD, we realized that we were leaving out too many beautiful songs that represented important messages about life and aging, so we decided immediately that we couldn't put them on the shelf and committed to two CDs: Life in the Years and More Life in the Years. This is a unique and creative grassroots effort that's making a difference by creating awareness through music. Time after time we hear how a particular song in the compilation touched someone so deeply that they just have to tell everyone they know about it, and it's always a different song. We hope you enjoy them too. |
